Vic: State government cracks down on identity fraud
MELBOURNE, Jan 18 AAP - Birth, death and marriage certificates issued in Victoria now
had increased security features as part of a crackdown on identity fraud, the state government
announced today.
A recent Victorian parliamentary inquiry found identity fraud and white collar crime
in the state cost as much as $641 million a year.
Acting Premier John Thwaites said the new certificates would include a number of hidden
